When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the impact extends far beyond the patient, it affects the entire family. H.U.G.S. 4 Childhood Cancer is committed to supporting families navigating childhood cancer by providing care packages, meaningful resources, and ongoing encouragement during their journey.
Each H.U.G.S. care package is thoughtfully tailored to the child’s individual needs and interests. Packages may include items such as blankets, mugs, gift cards, art supplies, and other comfort items. Every package also contains handwritten notes of support and helpful resources for families. When requested, care packages are extended to a child’s siblings to ensure they feel seen, supported, and included.
In addition to care packages, H.U.G.S. partners with hospitals to connect directly with childhood cancer families. We have worked with Children’s of Alabama to donate comic books to the cancer ward and continue to collaborate with medical teams to provide moments of comfort and joy. Through social media, we are able to reach and support families around the world, including creating video compilations of influential individuals sending messages of love, hope, and encouragement to patients.
